Head over to the photo gallery for a couple of screenshots of a treasure card proof-of-concept. What I did was embedding the Adobe SVG Viewer COM control onto a Windows form, and display an SVG graphic. The thing about SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is that they're scalable vector graphics (haha), meaning you can make them smaller, or larger, or even larger without the annoying pixel effect.
What happened to Avalon? I'm still on the road to Avalon, but after playing around with it a couple of hours yesterday and getting terribly frustrated with the lack of designer support and introductory examples, I decided to have a go at displaying SVG graphics. After all, I go from TIFF (scanned) to SVG to XAML graphics. And it gives me some quick satisfaction of being able to show something off ;-)
