First of all I should point out that this blog entry contains spoilers for Joiner King. Read at your own risk!

Seems like my suspicion that the Kind are victims of a faction of their own is warranted: this faction is the Dark Nest that this trilogy is about. Another suspicion in not confirmed yet, but has collected some solid evidence: Lomi is alive and she is brain behind it all - The Unseen Queen. The mystery of the five disappearing Ruling Families among the Chiss is solved too: they became Joiners. The presence of Baron Fell among the Chiss (rather than with the Empire of the Hand) during the NJO is explained as well.

A moment of shivers running down my spine: there's the scene at the end between Jaina and Zekk, just after the two of them thanked Jag Fell for setting Lowbacca free. Zekk rubs his forearm accross Jaina's, and she makes a low clicking noise at the back of her throat - just like the Kind do. I had this horrible feeling of recognition here: my fiancee and I are both very fond of cats, and one of our rituals is caressing each other like we would a cat, and making purring noises.
