Think you know the answer?
This rather silly question was asked in a TV program on ATV+, and the person who'd give the correct answer would win 4 000 EUR. Thinking what 4 000 EUR could buy us for the wedding, I decided to have a go at it. The catch is that you need to call a 0901 number, costing 0.70 EUR per call. When you call, a computer selects a random number, and if you get on of the random numbers on the TV screen, you are connected to the host of the show. I guess there are 100 random numbers from which the computer chooses, but I suspect that the distribution is not a uniform distribution. I guessed that if I keep trying long enough, I should get through and the phone bill would be payed by the sum I'd win. Which is of course exactly the kind of behaviour that ATV+ is counting on. Realising all that, I decided to go through with it regardless. I must have called about 50 times, landing on a number next to the "good" numbers twice or thrice, before somebody else got through. That person did, of course, know the answer.
So I am left with a phonebill that is approximately 35 EUR higher than normal, and no prize money. Well, it was my decision, I'll pay the bill (fortunately I can), I'll chalk it up to experience (the odds are never as good as they appear in TV shows), and life goes on.
The answer to the question is of course "none", because the Arch built by Moses is the Arch of the Covenant. The Arch with the animals is the one built by Noah.
